Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on mcoglobal.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
Summary: we use a small number of technically necessary cookies to make the site work. We do not currently run any analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies of our own. Links to third-party platforms such as Patreon and YouTube open their own websites, which set their own cookies. Once direct checkout on our website is available, Stripe will set cookies there for payment processing and fraud prevention.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember preferences, and (where used) to measure usage. Similar technologies include local storage in your browser, which we use for the same kind of purposes.
2. Cookies we set
We use only strictly necessary cookies and local-storage entries. These do not require consent under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations or the EU ePrivacy Directive, because they are essential to deliver the service you have requested.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| mco:cookies | Remembers that you have dismissed the cookie notice banner so it is not shown again | Local storage | Until cleared |
| mco_session | Protects the forms on this site (contact, sign-in, checkout) against cross-site request forgery and, once member accounts are available, keeps you signed in | HTTP cookie | Until you close your browser |
3. Cookies we do not set
We do not currently use any of the following on this site:
- Google Analytics or any other third-party web analytics
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any advertising pixel
- Marketing or remarketing cookies
- Behavioural targeting or cross-site tracking
If we introduce any such service in the future, this policy will be updated and your prior consent will be sought through the cookie banner before any non-essential cookies are placed on your device.
4. Third-party cookies you may encounter
Parts of the Service link to third-party platforms. When you follow such a link, the platform may set its own cookies on your device. During a direct checkout on our website (once available), Stripe sets cookies for payment processing and fraud prevention. We do not control these cookies; they are governed by the third party's own privacy and cookie policies.
| Service | Purpose | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Patreon | Membership signup, billing, and account management for Patreon memberships | patreon.com/cookies |
| YouTube | Our video channels, opened through links on this site | google.com/technologies/cookies |
| Discord | Our member community, opened through links on this site or connected through Patreon | discord.com/privacy |
| X | Our X account, opened through links on this site | help.x.com/x-cookies |
| TradingView | Live charts for members, opened through links | tradingview.com/cookies-policy |
| Stripe (direct checkout, once available) | Payment processing, fraud prevention | stripe.com/cookies-policy |
Some pages also load files automatically from Google (the MCO News list on the home page). When you subscribe to MCO Intelligence, your browser sends the signup directly to Mailchimp. These requests transmit your IP address to the provider but do not set cookies from this site. Details are in section 6 of our Privacy Policy.
5. Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- See which cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies by default
- Block cookies from specific sites
- Delete all cookies when you close the browser
Disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect parts of the Service (for example, the cookie notice banner may reappear on every visit, and forms may not submit). Disabling third-party cookies may affect third-party platforms you open from this site.
Browser-specific instructions are available at the following links: Chrome · Firefox · Safari · Edge
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not currently use any tracking cookies of our own, the Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals do not change how we operate. Should we introduce optional analytics in the future, we will honour these signals as a clear expression of refused consent.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time, in particular if we introduce new features that involve cookies. Material changes will be reflected on this page with the "last updated" date below.
